Elizabeth Michaelis is president and chief financial officer of Quality Built, the nation’s largest construction quality assurance firm serving over 2,700 active projects and 80,000 units under construction across the country. Michaelis is responsible for overseeing senior management, national expansion of company operations and insurance relationships.

In 1992, Michaelis joined Pacific Property Consultants (PPC), a nationally recognized construction consulting firm specializing in construction defect litigation services. Michaelis was responsible for management of business operations and the creation of a business plan for the company’s new quality assurance services, which were introduced to builders in 1994 as the Quality Built system. Michaelis was responsible for educating builders and insurance companies on the new system and how, for the first time, risk could be identified, quantified and reduced. In 1996, Michaelis, along with PPC president Stan Luhr, co-founded Quality Built as a separate, independently-operating corporation.

In her more than 13 years with the Quality Built organization, Michaelis, along with Luhr, has continued to expand Quality Built’s risk management and quality assurance line of services, and Michaelis continues to have a special focus on cultivating large builder and insurance industry relationships. To date over 225,000 homes have been built using the Quality Built systems, resulting in homes that are safer, more durable and more comfortable.
