Stan Luhr, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Quality Built® (panel moderator)
Stan Luhr is CEO and founder of Quality Built®, the nation’s largest construction quality assurance firm serving over 2,700 active projects around the country. He is also president of Pacific Property Consultants, a construction defect consulting firm that he founded in 1984.

Luhr has served as an construction forensic expert on more than 2,800 construction defect cases, providing testimony in more than 90 trials and 500 depositions on projects as large as 1,000,000 homes and $2.3 billion in case value. In 1994, Luhr began funneling this builder and product failure information into a computer-based information and training system that has become the hallmark of the Quality Built program. His leadership in construction quality since 1994 has led to greatly improved housing quality across the country for nearly every major builder following his system.

The statistics of Quality Built’s success have been documented in the more than 225,000 homes now in the Quality Built program since 1994. In 2005, $1.01 billion in verified construction risk was eliminated on Quality Built jobsites; while $9.05 billion of good quality construction was documented and archived into the Quality Built system.

In the last 10 years, the Quality Built system has documented billions of dollars in direct risk savings to builders and insurers. The indirect by-product of increased quality and reduced customer service issues on Quality Built homes is immeasurable. The net result is that today, under the Quality Built program, homes are safer, more durable, and more comfortable than ever before.

Nearly every major insurance company in America has recognized Quality Built’s patent-pending systems as a significant risk management tool, with several programs mandating the Quality Built systems exclusively to their insured clients. Luhr has lectured extensively at NAHB, PCBC, Benchmark, Mid-West Builders Conference, EEBA, Affordable Comfort, American Society for Quality World Congress, Urban Land Institute, IRMI, CFMA, ASHI, CREIA, NAHB Builder 20 Groups, and countless other builder training events nationwide.
