you may be aware insurance for the residential contracting industry has
changed significantly both in price and availability of coverage since
the beginning of 2001 and continues to change daily. We have witnessed
a decline in competition. To say the very least we are more than happy
since insureds are placing more value on carriers that write this coverage
in what we believe is a responsible manner. From January 1, 2001 to date
we have obtained price increases averaging 72.2% and have an increased
interest from residential contractors in complying with the requirements
of our program. We fully expect this trend to continue.
When we began the program in 1996 our most important component for success was residential contractors commitment to peer review. We feel peer review is the ultimate quality control and will substantially influence our loss ratio and the ability to be able to continue the program. This has proven true so far. Pacific Property Consultants have played a major role in assisting our insureds with peer review and in turn greatly assisting the profitability of this program.
