Denver, CO — Quality Built® - the nation’s largest risk management services firm - recognized builders, insurance carriers and building industry leaders for their performance and commitment to quality assurance (QA) and risk assessments in the construction industry during the past year at the “Challenge the Ordinary” Construction Risk Conference at the Inverness Hotel. The Quality Built Awards Program, in its second year, was designed to honor those companies and individuals who implement quality assurance and risk management practices into their everyday building process and who are “partners in the achievement of perfecting the art and science of quality in home building.”

Awards each year are based on nominations derived from Quality Built’s field representatives and coordinators who, first handedly, observe excellence applied throughout the building industry and in all regions of the United States.

This year, the top recognition honor, - the “Vanguard Award” - was presented to Mid-Atlantic Builders of Rockville, Maryland. This award is presented to the leading builder that works at implementing quality assurance into their building practices. Mid-Atlantic is the forerunner in their region at a time when the importance of QA is now being recognized as an essential element of proactive business practice on the East Coast. Mid Atlantic has demonstrated leadership by educating other builders in their region to adopt third party QA as a part of their risk management programs. In 2003, Mid-Atlantic became the first regional builder in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area to implement QA. This in part earned them the recognition by the National Association of Home Builders and Builder Magazine in 2006 as America’s Best Builder, along with many other prestigious accolades, including Quality Built’s “Quality Leadership” award.

The list includes Cachet Homes, DR Horton, The Lennar Corporation, Pulte Homes, John Laing Homes, DBH Resources, Quinn Anguiano from The Olson Development Company and numerous worldwide insurance carriers. Other awards include, the Largest Builder Committing to Excellence in Risk Management, the Outstanding Execution of Suggested Good Building Practices, and the Builder Most Dedicated to the Advancement of Quality Assurance, the Outstanding Builder Committed to Excellence in Quality Risk Management, and the Superintendent Most Dedicated to Elevating Quality in Home Building.

The previous Vanguard award winner was Ray Ferrarini of John Laing Homes - Sacramento, Calif.
