STAN LUHR – LEADING LITIGATION EXPERT - TO SPEAK AT INTERNATIONAL BUILDERS’ SHOW CEO of QUALITY BUILT® to discuss the “modern” role of the construction superintendent Orlando, FL — The transformation from pick-up trucks and cell phones to high-tech field computers and scheduling software is being embraced by the nation’s home builders. At the upcoming International Builders’ Show (IBS), Stan Luhr, CEO of Quality Built, the nation’s largest construction risk management services firm, will speak about the new and essential role of the modern construction superintendent, and how they can greatly improve jobsite operations with new techniques and manufacturing level processes. The lecture, taking place on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., will focus on quality tools and techniques to build homes of higher quality and eliminate the costly defects that plague some projects. Luhr, who as a forensic consultant has spent the last 20 years investigating thousands of building failures, will share examples of top construction problems and how to correct them during the construction process. “The project superintendent is the most important person in home building. They are part traffic cop and part master scheduler and most importantly, they are the front line to managing risk on the job site,” commented Luhr. The seminar will focus on the top risk factors faced by homebuilders, and subsequently, how to train the job superintendent on how to deal with the risks and work more effectively, especially in the dynamic construction industry. Top risk factors discussed will include framing hardware, fire-resistive construction, cladding, interior waterproofing, balcony decks and more. The responsibilities and “job description” for the construction job site superintendent have evolved into more than just overseeing construction, managing crews and trade contractors. Superintendents benefit most if they use efficiency-related opportunities to help all aspects of the building process and by implementing effective builder operations. “The role of a superintendent is similar to that of a factory Floor Manager who directs standardization processes to improve the quality of the final product. The superintendent is always mindful of job site safety; however, if they focus on operations and process development, safety becomes a natural byproduct of those combined efforts,” stated Luhr. Steve McGee of Associated Builder Solutions, LLC, and a recognized leader in the field of trade contractor and employee performance improvement will be co-presenting with Mr. Luhr. ### About Quality Built
