QUALITY BUILT® LAUNCHES HOME ID™ www.HomeID.com is an all-in-one information portal for homeowners and a service tool for homebuilders to use in the event of a claim Orlando, FL — Quality Built, the nation’s largest construction risk management services firm, launched the first version of a new Web site, www.HomeID.com, at the International Builders’ Show. The Web site is designed to offer homeowners helpful information about their home and, in the case of California homeowners and homebuilders, access to an automated claims form and process should a claim arise. The Web site features an overview tour of features and functions to introduce the user to the system and grant registered logon access. The site contains four sections; Organize, Protect, Improve and Share. Organize promotes the system’s home data organization features and provides helpful information for homeowners to become and remain systematic where their home is concerned. When entering the Protect menu option, users will learn ways in which to maintain their home and protect their investment. Future releases of the Web site will include a general maintenance manual, featuring upkeep schedule tracking systems and more. When users click on Improve, they can learn about how to increase the value of their home by adding enhancements that will net them more return on their taxes. “There is a difference between repairs and improvements,” stated Stan Luhr, CEO of Quality Built. “The cost of improvements adds to your tax basis. An improvement is something that adds value to your home, prolongs its life or adapts it to new uses. Costs of repairs don’t add to a home’s basis. Fixing a gutter, painting a room, or replacing a window pane is considered a repair, not an improvement.” Share provides a way in which the homeowner can share information about their home, such as photos, records and contracts. This feature is especially important when a homeowner plans to sell their home, and when a home transfers possession, the new owners have important data – the home’s “license plate” - at their fingertips. If a claim arises, www.HomeID.com becomes a simple way to enter into the claims process. California homeowners will have the ability to make a claim via the Internet by clicking a button on the Web site. Claim forms also can be downloaded and submitted via regular mail. Registered users in the HomeID.com system can track the claims process online. When a claim is received, Quality Built will review and respond within statutory time frames, and upon completion of the initial inspection, provide a written report complete with cost and repair recommendations. If necessary, Quality Built will coordinate a second inspection and testing with experts. In future updates to the Web site, homeowners can access information about their homes using a special “Home ID” bar code and license number that are, literally, “built in” during the construction process. This “exclusive” barcode will track and document the entire lifecycle of the building process used by the homebuilder, including contractor data and supplies used to build the home, photos of the building process and more. The homeowner will have the option of viewing and downloading documents that pertain exclusively to their home, including items such as blue prints, photos and Home Owner Association documentation. Builders who sign up for the program also will have access to the Quality Built document depository. Builders who want more information about the program should call the Quality Built Sales Department at (800) 547-5125 or email sales@qualitybuilt.com. Homeowners who want to learn more can logon to www.HomeID.com. ### About Quality Built
