San Diego , CA —Quality Built®,  an ISO compliant  third-party risk management consulting firm, has established a new program for its clients which provides proactive solutions for the many renewable and sustainable energy programs available to homebuilders.

The new Environmental Services Group will offer answers to complex problems which plague homebuilders where energy efficiency is concerned. By adding Quality Built’s Environmental Services program to a developer’s quality assurance services, builders will be able to take advantage of cost-effective approaches to meeting the many programs’ requirements. Quality Built will assist builders in understanding the subtle differences each program offers so that the most appropriate program can be chosen.

“When the builder wants to participate in a green building program, some of the challenges facing today’s developers are the selection of the program most beneficial to them, as well as understanding their participation eligibility. Many builders are also not aware of the multiple tax credits and financial benefits which can be realized by slightly adjusting their efforts. Currently there are over 50 “green” building programs and many of these programs have subtle differences, including costs, marketing support and verification requirements, ” cited Stan Luhr, CEO of Quality Built.

Tom Hamilton, the former executive director of CHEERS® (California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services, Inc.), has joined Quality Built to develop and manage the first program of this kind. As the new head of the Environmental Services Group, Hamilton brings over 10 years of experience in the home energy rating industry.

To our knowledge, we are the first risk management firm to offer the builder a one-stop shop to coordinate all their energy needs. Often times a builder will not know that by adding a couple of diagnostic tests, or adjusting what is tested, they can qualify for numerous benefits. Quality Built’s plan review and consultation can guide a builder through the process, and in many cases eliminate the need for hiring multiple agencies to achieve the desired result. Our goal is to make green building easier to achieve, more affordable and in the end more marketable to the consumer,” stated Hamilton.

Quality Built’s initial program offerings will focus on assisting the California builder in meeting requirements for Title 24 compliance, Energy Star, Federal Tax Credits: LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) – Green Building Rating System® and the California Solar Initiative.
